Armed Society Is Polite Society
Todd Wright from MIAMI MSNBC , is (based on his article) an anti-gun reporter. His article is about new rules that “will allow people with concealed weapons permits to bring their guns to parks, ball fields, beaches, camping grounds and a host of other publicly-owned areas where children frolic” in Palm Beach County. Interestingly enough – this is how he opens his article: “residents might want to think twice about starting an argument with another parent”. Mr. Right ignores the fact that holders of Concealed Weapon Permits are hardly ever involved in gun crimes, but he does acknowledge that an armed society is a polite society and for that he is praised! Florida concealed weapons permit holders should be allowed to carry their firearms in any city, county, or state park. Why? Because with all the budget cuts their are not enough rangers, officers, or deputies to patrol them.
Many parks are areas that offer criminals an advantage because lack of law enforcement and being “out in the woods” anyway. If government can’t protect us, we should be able to protect ourselves and the ones we love.
Jeff.
I agree (and by the way, following your logic there is a California Sheriff that in response to budget cuts announced he will grant anyone who wants and passes background check Concealed Carry License.) However, this is more basic to me. The right to bear arms is very basic and does not need reason. And all of those rules and regulations that limit to where one can carry and where not, cut this right to bits and pieces and in some cases makes it impractical. Any rule and regulation removed, makes the right to bear arms more realistic and meaningful.
